Quite a few years ago, probably during the period 2003 - 2004 I had an idea to build a website that could handle online bookings of driving lessons, act as an online training medium, enable learner drivers to access a mass of information about driving and more functions.

So what happened?  Well as is usual I never got round to it.  My work on other projects took up most of my time but I did spend a bit of time thinking through how we could structure a driving school based around an online presence.

Fast forward 4 years - I am sitting in Dundee Test Centre chatting to a most amicable motorcycle trainer, Doug, discussing the relative merits of driving schools etc.  We get around to what our ambitions are for the future and we both agree that we want to build a Driving School.

In Doug’s case it was to supplement his motorcycle training school, GMTS, in my case, it is my idea for an online Driving School, unrestricted by area or size.

I have been working offline and online for many years and have numerous contacts, but one of my friends is a developer/programmer and I knew that he might be interested in getting involved with a venture of what Doug and I were considering.

And that really is how 2Pass.eu came about.

As an active Driving Instructor working in Dundee and surrounding areas, it will be up to me to pilot the scheme locally.  While I am out on the road driving and instructing, Colin is working away at the website which we intend to launch early 2009.  Doug is the businessman!  His role will be to provide administrative assistance and as we grow, he will be responsible for ensuring a physical presence to supplement and support the online presence.

Today’s date is 20th May, 2008.  2Pass.eu is a blog and the 2Pass.eu Driving School will go live early in June 2008.
